Situation:
The client faced a situation where the debtor refused to voluntarily comply with a Latvian court judgment ordering payment of a commercial debt.
Risks:
The inability to effectively recover the debt in Estonia, delays in enforcing the judgment, and increasing financial losses.
Objective:
To obtain recognition and enforcement of the foreign court judgment in Estonia and subsequently initiate debt recovery proceedings.
What We Did:
We reviewed the court documents and the requirements arising from EU law, prepared the necessary procedural documents, supported the judgment recognition process, and coordinated communication with the enforcement authorities.
Result:
The Latvian court judgment was successfully recognised, allowing debt recovery proceedings to be initiated in Estonia.
